CAMERADI

It all began over a Sunday lunch 30 years ago when six university friends decided to channel their camaraderie into a venture, fuelled by a shared belief in collective strength. The journey started with an investment portfolio, but the catastrophic results brought an abrupt end to that road.
“What next?” we asked. The answer came very naturally – let’s make wine.

In 1999, we bottled our first wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon aptly named Dè But. The following year, after much deliberation, we settled on the name Cameradi – a word that embodies enduring friendship and the joy of sharing a glass of wine with loved ones. It was the perfect expression of our vision.

Over the years, each harvest brought new excitement, challenges and celebrations as we endeavoured to create fine wines enjoyed by many.

The spirit of Cameradi remains as strong as ever as this torch is carried forward by the Lategan family – under whose stewardship Cameradi wines have been handcrafted in their Boutique-style wine cellar for years. As this chapter unfolds, it is exciting to see the involvement of youthful energy to guide the brand into the future.

We reflect with pride on the legacy built over a quarter-century of winemaking, a milestone now celebrated with the special release Cameradi Bainstraat, a classic Bordeaux- style blend that embodies the quality of our region.

As we toast to the future of Cameradi, we celebrate not just a brand, but a story of friendship, adventure and the timeless joy of sharing fine wine.

Warm regards
